The James Nader Film Archive | MF05 – Kodak Black & White Film Collection
Independent film-inspired creative presets. Not manufactured, licensed or endorsed by Kodak.
Kodak emulation black and white Lightroom presets are digital editing settings designed to recreate aspects of the tonal character, contrast and grain associated with traditional Kodak monochrome films. They allow photographers to explore analogue-inspired looks while editing digital photographs.
What is the difference between Kodak Tri-X and T-MAX?
Kodak Tri-X is widely associated with traditional grain, distinctive midtone contrast and expressive documentary photography. Kodak T-MAX films use tabular-grain technology and are known for finer grain and detail relative to their speed. The MF05 collection includes interpretations of both families.
Can Lightroom presets accurately reproduce Kodak film?
Lightroom presets can interpret the tonal characteristics of analogue film, but they cannot reproduce every physical property of a film negative, chemical development or darkroom print. Lighting, exposure, camera sensor and editing decisions all influence the final result.
