Neon Glow is a specialist colour-grading collection for photographs created using directional studio lighting, coloured gels, LEDs, flash and cinematic light sources.
The presets enhance existing colour, highlights, shadows and contrast. Photographers then use Lightroom's sliders to refine black density, reduce excessive contrast or grain, and experiment with dramatic colour shifts.
These are creative starting points, not one-click finished images. Each photograph requires its own adjustments to achieve the desired interpretation.
IMPORTANT: Best suited to deliberately lit images with strong direction, highlights and shadow separation. Not recommended for flat light, ordinary daylight portraits or evenly illuminated photographs.
The light creates the photograph. The preset establishes the colour. Your editing decisions create the finish.
Every photograph will respond differently. Exposure, dynamic range, lighting direction and existing colour information significantly influence the final interpretation. Adjusting Lightroom's Exposure, Blacks, Shadows, Highlights and Contrast sliders is an essential part of the creative process.
Neon Glow works best with coloured gel lighting, LED illumination, neon signs, wet city streets, atmospheric night photography and graphic editorial images with strong highlights, contrast and shadow depth.
These are not conventional one-click filters. Each preset is a creative starting point, and the original exposure, lighting and dynamic range will determine the final result.
The Lightroom sliders are essential. Exposure, Blacks, Shadows, Highlights, Contrast and colour adjustments can dramatically change the look — taking the same preset from a restrained cinematic interpretation to an intense, graphic colour treatment.
For the best results, adjust exposure and black density first, then refine highlights, contrast and colour intensity. Reduce grain where necessary.
Not recommended for: Flat daylight photographs, neutrally lit portraits, colour-critical work or images without suitable artificial lighting and tonal separation. These presets enhance existing light and colour; they do not generate new lighting effects.
